SOUTH AUSTRALIA SHIRAZ
Vineyard parcels were crushed, destemmed and kept separate in a mixture of small batch open and closed fermenters. A mix of pumping over and plunging was used to maximise extraction while retaining concentration and depth of fruit. The individual parcels were gently pressed and transferred to a mix of new and one year old French and American oak for 18 months before final blending and bottling.

American (34%) oak barrels for 18 months - 20% new oak with the
remainder in seasoned oak barrels.

NOSE
dark chocolate / moccha notes, with dusty, cedary oak.
PALATE
macerated plums and cocoa are evident with a touch of spice and pepper. The oak is well integrated and as a whole, it's seamless with soft, linger tannins. A classic display of the Wolf Blass hallmarks - power and elegance.
