Annies Lane Chardonnay
Notes of soft fruits blending with oak characters, perfect with cream chicken or pasta dishes
Annies Lane Chardonnay
ABV 13%
Annie Wayman was a legend in the Clare Valley. She could always be relied upon to bring along sandwiches and a warm drink to harvesters and pruners at the turn of the century. One evening Annie’s horse and cart became bogged in a lane adjacent to one of the valley’s best vineyards. Thus, Annie’s Lane was named.
Annie’s Lane Chardonnay is soft straw with green hues in the glass. Aromas of peaches, nectarines and melon fruits are present on the nose. These scents develop into lively varietal fruit flavours with complex oak characters on a creamy, refined palate.
Vinification
After crushing and pressing, partial barrel and malolatic fermentation was followed by extended contact with the lees to add complexity and length of flavour.
Suggested food, Creamy pasta or chicken dishes, Cellaring, Enjoy now, but would benefit from up to three years bottle age.
