ANNIE’S LANE SEMILLON

Annie Wayman was a legend in the Clare Valley. She could always be relied upon to bring along sandwiches and a warm drink to harvesters and pruners at the turn of the century. One evening Annie’s horse and cart became bogged in a lane adjacent to one of the valley’s best vineyards. Thus, Annie’s Lane was named.

Annie’s Lane Semillon is vibrant straw green in colour. This wine shows subtle yet pungent lemon/citrus aromas, great depth of flavour and a clean, crisp finish.

Viticulture

Sourced from the Clare Valley, a portion of the fruit for this wine came from vines with an average age of 45 years.

Winemaking

The fruit was pressed and cold settled, prior to a controlled cool fermentation to retain the intense varietal characters. This wine did not receive any oak treatment or malolactic fermentation and was bottled early to retain these fresh varietal flavours.

Suggested Food

Serve with blue swimmer crab with Asian dressing, grilled snapper with lime butter or honey soy chicken salad.
