Louis Jadot Gevrey Chambertain
ABV 13%
Vineyards
Gevrey-Chambertin is the northermost of the great communes of the Cote de Nuits
Winemakers Comments
Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin is aged in barrels for 15 - 18 monthsbefore bottling. Its characteristic qualities are a deep colour, and a rich red fruit bouquet, a full tannic structure and mellow texture carry into a lasting finish.
This powerful and perfumed wine requires elaborate and strong tasting food like game of beouf bourguignon, game, pates and strong cheeses
Beaujolais-Villages · Combe aux Jacques
ABV 12.5%
Appellation Contrôlée
This wine comes from Gamay grapes and so can be drunk slightly chilled, in order to protect the delicious aromas of fruits and the delicate freshness of the wine. This Beaujolais Villages can be drunk young but will age well for 2-3 years. Ideal as an aperitif or with salads and light meats.
Vineyards
Made with 100% Gamay grapes. Our cuvée mainly comes from the regions of Lantigné, Lancié and Regnié where the best Beaujolais Villages are located, on a typical granitic soil, from different valleys. Amongst the 22,000 ha of vineyards planted in the Beaujolais region (south of Burgundy); about 6,000 ha use the name Beaujolais Villages A.O.C.; they are the intermediary between the straight Beaujolais and the 10 Crus.
Winemaking
In 1998 Louis Jadot opened their new Combe aux Jacques Winery, near the village of Brouilly. For the first time in the Beaujolais area, they are purchasing grapes, rather than must or juice to produce a Beaujolais Villages. A proportion of the grapes are destemmed and receive a 14 day maceration. The blend includes some wine from the village of Regnié.
Louis Jadot Fleurie Poncereau
ABV 13%
Vineyards
The wines of Fleurie are renouned as being the most feminine of the crus of Beaujolais, characterised by complex fruit and floral aromas domaine Poncereau lies near Fleurie at Poncie an the south of Macon
Made with 100% Gamay grapes. The wine is stored in oak vats for 4 months before bottling. Domaine de Poncereau is situated on the south and west slopes of the village, the soils here are very thin on top and are salmon pink in colour where the chrystalline rock sub soil reaches the surface. Fleurie domaine Poncereau is fruity as well as floral. It has mellow and elegant tones along with a silky texture and a lovely finesse. It can be drunk quite young but will age very well for 3 or 4 years. It is a perfect accompaniment to red meats and cheeses
Louis Jadot Moulin a Vent Chateau des Jaques
ABV 13%
Vineyards
Maison Louis Jadot bought the chateau des Jacques in 1996. It is situated in a moulin a vent between Fleurie and Chenas.
Winemakers Notes
Geological origin and soil composition are quite different from the cote d'or. It is typically gannitic which is why Beaujolais red wines are only made of Gamay grapes.
The Moulin a Vent is now referred to as the king of Beaujolais
The grapes are all de-stemmed and a traditional "Burgundian" fermentation is practised
Wine Makers Comments
The Louis Jadot Moulin a Vent is a full robust Beaujolais, with a fleshy, almost fat texture and greater longevity than any other cru of the Beaujolais. The exceptional quality of its structure preserves a fruityness which mellows with bottle age.
You can enjoy this Moulin a Vent Chateau des Jacques young and slightly chilled with cold meats. It has a rich bouquet and fine perfume and is very tender on the palate
It may be enjoyed after cellering for 10 years or more, then it will be perfect with red meat or game.
